Who am I ?

My name is Omer Saeed Eidha Al-Ameri, 29 years old. I was born in September 1978 in Abu Dhabi. My parents sent me to the UAE Primary school and I continued my educational journey there till secondary school. After completion of my lower secondary school, I attended Abu-Baker Higher secondary school and graduated from there in 1995. Thereafter I entered to HCT’s Chemical Technology section and I graduated in 1999, securing a diploma certificate (CD) in chemical technology.

In October 1999, I joined Takreer Oil Refining Company as a Laboratory Analyst - Developee. I have a lot of friends in Takreer and I learned many available skills. I was involved in many educational and sports programs arranged by the company for the employees inside and outside the country. I was the team captain for a football and was able to lead the football team to many of the victories. Due to my hard work, commitment to duty and good performance, I was promoted to Sr. Lab Analyst position as a team leader grade (11). At the end of 2006, I decided to pursue higher qualifications and I entered the HCT for the chemical engineering program. I am now in the 2nd year and wish to return to Takreer after the completion of my studies.

I got married when I was 23 years old. I had a marvellous honey moon. It was in 3 different countries in Europe: France, Germany and Austria. Now I have four children, two boys and two girls. My eldest son is 5 years. His name is Saeed, so they call me Abu Saeed. I have six brothers and six sisters. We all live in a big villa in my father's house. My hobbies include many sports, football, swimming, watching movies and travelling around the globe. I have travelled to so many countries such as China, Hong Kong, Burma, Thailand, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, the UK (England), Belgium, Holland, Egypt, Sudan and all the Gulf countries.

I run my own export and import business. I import many useful materials from all over Asia that are much needed by consumers in UAE. It is my desire and ambition one day to become the most famous businessman in the UAE.

Critical Thinking Summery

The definition of critical thinking is top rate thinking .The critical thinkers have various types of skills such as thinking further than the questions in front of them, listening carefully, looking for the various types of evidence and questioning. Critical thinkers are able to solve any difficulty because they have logical thinking and understanding of a subject: these are a critical thinker’s most important tools.

Bloom's taxonomy ranks thinking from easy to difficult in a pyramid. First, the simple kind of thinking is knowledge, information about only the general idea on any issue. Second is comprehension, understanding a subject. Next, using information to solve any problem is called application. After that is analysis, which is like in a laboratory when you use a microscope to analyze something. Later on is synthesis which means is how to mix all analysis together in a various way. Finally, evaluation is the top level of thinking that involves giving your opinion & drawing conclusion.

In conclusion critical thinking can be applied at change preposition many job-related environments, from a student to a doctor. It plays an important part in our daily lives. Anyone can be a critical thinker, but it requires a person to adopt certain behaviours.
